Tiny Steps

It's been a quietish day. I've got a few bits done, but I've had one of those 'don't drive or try anything complicated like walking' headaches which I think is because I kept forgetting to make a drink. I was definitely out of it for a bit but at least I recovered in time to watch the first in the new season of The Great British Sewing Bee. I very much enjoyed the sewing bee, but it looked like they were starting off with some really hard stuff. They were using patterns with pleats and gathers and my very limited experience says that they can be tricky to get straight and even if you're pushed for time. Still, some of the finished garments were stunning.

I've spent a lot of the day trying to work out how to go forward with some writing stuff, so I've not had much to take pics of, but I did a little knitting and the blanket is growing nicely. I'm loving how the colours work out.

And I've identified more yarn that I can get rid of, including this.

It's a lovely soft cotton feel acrylic, and I'm a sucker for blues, and I'd no doubt enjoy turning it into a couple of baby blankets, but I don't know if or when thtat would happen. I'm absolutely getting rid of blacks and navy blues. I don't need the eye strain!

And that's about it.

Hugs and good health to all.

  2. I hope your headache is better now. The blanket looks lovely and the other yarn is such a pretty blue.

    1. Thank you! I am always a sucker for blue, and I think that's why I've kept it for so long when I'm not going to use it.

  3. Things like dehydration can creep up on one...
That's a very pretty blue, I'm sure someone else will love it.

    1. I need to up the water intake. The blue is so pretty, and it's only fair that it gets some use.

  4. I hadn't realised that sewing bee has started back up. I used to love it but it got a bit same old same old. They usually choose the weirdest selection of people to participate. I'll catch up on it today.

    1. There are the usual selection of odd bods, and some are odder than others, but I think that there are some seriously skilled sewers and I'm looking forward to it. Wait until you see garment of the week.

  5. Love the blanket. Blues are soothing.
The air seems quite 'heavy' and we need a good downpour, then, of course, we'll have too much, and require the sun to shine again. I hope your head clears.

    1. The weather is completely unacceptable. It's far too hot and far too humid and while I shouldn't wish my life away, I can't wait until October when it's cooler. I love autumn.
The blanket is growing on me and I'm reconsidering passing it over to my brother!

    1. Thank you! It's a so-and-so to knit as it's boucle and I keep getting caught on loops, but it feels lovely and soft and snuggly and is wonderfully light and warm.
