Where Did the Day Go?

It's been cold and windy here today. I managed to get one pic to show that Gladys is still going strong.

But it was hard to get as the wind was throwing the branches around like crazy. I feel like there is a hard winter coming.

I found myself wondering what I managed to do today. I seemed to have done the very barest and my major triumph was remembering to take out the recycling for collection tomorrow. Of course, I also wrote just over five thousand words, so I suppose that accounts for some of the time. Some of it was for DHm but a large chunk was for my writing blog. I'm feeling pretty good about that.

I had a call from bear yesterday which was lovely. He sometimes calls just to talk stuff out, though I'm honest when I say that I haven't got a clue about what he's talking about.

With the weather being so cold and dreary, it's such a temptation to pile on the blankets and revel in feeling snug with all the wind and rain outside. It's my favourite time of year and I intend to enjoy it!

Hugs and good health to all.

  1. Gladys is looking lovely! Thank you for braving the weather to go outside and take a picture of her!
I'm glad that bear called you for a chat. Hope he's recovering from his cold.
I can't think of anything nicer than curling up under blankets when it is windy, rainy, and cold outside. :)

    1. Snuggling inside with blankets in bad weather is a serious indulgence.
Bear is much better and we call quite regularly. He's very good to me. I shall have to fuss over Gladys. She was neglected this year and I don't want to lose her.

  2. We've a fuschia like yours which soldiers on every year. So cheerful in this weather.

    1. The fuchsia is father's fault. He planted it when he came to live with us, around 2011, and it was only supposed to be a small thing. He did something to fuchsias - the one we had growing up was supposed to be miniature as well and it grew big enough to crack a large sewer pipe. I wouldn't part with it for the world.

  3. I keep pondering where the year went. It was fresh and new the last time I looked!

    1. Yep, suddenly Christmas is losing and you could swear that it was only just past New Year. Mind you, I feel like I just blinked and the kid that held my hand on his first day at school is now at uni.

  4. It's definitely turning colder. When is the youngster due home for a visit. Has he been homesick or is he loving the independence.

    1. I think it's half way through December before bear comes home. I think he's being very much him. I think he quite misses us sometimes, but he texts and calls both me and DH, I'm fairly sure that he's in touch with friends from here and he seems to be having a blast with his flatmates and is enjoying a little freedom. He's taking pride in fending for himself and keeping up with his course and I couldn't be prouder.
