I've spent a lot of the day thinking. This is less impressive than it may sound as it's been a lot of dithering about whether I should or shouldn't do something. The highlight of today was knitting in the carpark after dropping bear at the pub quiz. If you pick the parking bay then nthe lights shine through the windows just right and it's bright enough to knit by. This is the knitting on my lap, when it was dark outside but the car park lights hitting the spot.
I had a blanket on my knee and plenty of layers but I forgot to wear a hat. I was tempted to nap, to be honest.
Bear is doing fine. The rules are that he had to apply to five universities and he has offers from the other four. All of the offers are lower than his predicted grades, and all are universites with good maths and computer sciennce departments. I'm so proud of his positive attitude.
And that's about it for today. I hope to have more to share tomorrow.
Hugs andn good health to all.
Wow that is quite an accomplishment for Bear! Well done. I think I'd have had a nap. Good thing you took the knitting to work on.
ReplyDeleteThank you - I'm so proud of him. I've usually take some knitting with me as I never know when I'll be waiting around.
DeleteI've had problems recently with non-functioning keys. I cleared out all the junk I could - it's amazing how much filth accumulates under the tiles - but still had problems. A can of compressed air worked wonders. I used Kenair Air Duster. It's quite expensive, but cheaper than a new keyboard.
ReplyDeleteI've got some of that putty stuff and I'm working up the courage to use it. I'm not good at backing stuff up, I can never find a file as it is, so I worry about things going wrong. If the putty doesn't work, I'll try the compressed air.
DeleteI've sat in the car and knitted or sewn patchwork while waiting for my daughter, but, never when it was cold and dark outside, so you get extra bonus points for that! I'm sure bear will do well at whichever university he chooses to go to. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you - I'm sure that bear will land on his paws.
DeleteI find it incredibly soothing to be in an enclosed, defined safe space with the bad weather outside and to be able to relax and knit without pressure from anything else. It's not for everyone, but it makes me happy.
