I was having a rummage around as I couldn't find my bag with the knitting needles, and I found this.
It was on clearance for pennies and looked so pretty and summery that I couldn't resist. That was over a year ago. I'm never going to use the paper napkins. I want to have the sort of life that needs pretty napkins, but I don't and it's so far down my list of priorities that I can't see me ever using pretty paper napkins. I've added them to the donate pile.
If the year had 360 days, we would be 2.5% through the year. So when I say that things are working so far, it's not very far. It's more like just around the corner. However, so far writing things down has curbed some of the impulse shopping that leads to pretty paper napkins that are never used despite an amazing discount on them. This sadly means that I won't be getting a set of pretty coasters that I absolutely wouldn't use. Writing down what I'm spending is really helping. I hope that I can keep this up for the 97.5% left of the year.
Today has been filled with a headache so not much has been done. I'm continuing with the scarf as I really want that to be finished soon. The weather is still cold here. Bear is the only one who has left the house and he said that the journey to and from college had its challenges. The main roads are fine but the pavements are like glass. He said that he had four near-death experiences in the few hundred yards from the far bus stop to home, but I'm sure he was exaggerating. It was probably no more than two. I was considering going for a drive to top up the battery, but DH wasn't keen. I may have to sit in the car (with knitting) and have it run for a while.
Hugs and good health to all.
