Too Much Weather

I had a quick walk in Batley Park this morning. I didn't like to linger as there were a lot of fallen branches. I think that I saw traces of a tree and a half having been blown down as well.

There was even a fallen tree at Tesco car park and you could see a few of the flower buds that were nearly there.

It's not a very good picture. It was waving around a lot in the wind, so you may have to take my word for it.

I couldn't think of anything I wanted, so I made a list, forgot to check it as I went around, missed a lot of stuff and they didn't have the oil that I like.

On the other hand, I had a cup of soy milk hot chocolate in the cafe and it made me smile, so here it is, well, what was left of it after I practically inhaled it!

I still haven't really got going with the lists, and I keep remembering stuff that I should have done that has just fallen off my radar. I think that's tomorrow's job.

The wind was so bad at school pick up time that I thought the car was going to be blown over the road! I was very glad to get home.

Writing stuff - in the run up to the release of King's Silver, I've reposted the poem, The Castle here. I'm considering trying to record me reading it to add to the blog but I'm not sure I'm up to the technical challenge.

Hugs and good health to all.

  1. I really like your tree photos. Sounds like the winds were quite wild!

  2. I’m still doing online shops at Tesco. I have family members who are vulnerable and I have type 2 diabetes so I try to shield as much as I can. My mental health isn’t wonderful at the mo and I often wonder if it’s because I’m not doing the little things like having a coffee out. One day I may feel normal. X

  3. It's sad to see the damage to the trees after a storm. We got off lightly this time without too much damage. Driving in strong winds is hard work isn't it. I try to avoid it if I can. Take care xx

  4. I hate strong wind and would be terrified if I had to drive in it. I'd be eyeballing every tree in my line of sight. Go on, read that poem and put it on the blog. That way we'd know where the inflections should be.

  5. That must have been quite a strong wind! It's lovely to see the buds coming out on the trees, isn't it? Glad you got to enjoy a cup of hot chocolate. :)
