Very Warm

Bless - kids here choose so many subjects at age 12 or 13 and concentrate on them until the summer when they are 16 and take separate exams in them. I was happy for bear to take drama as he had so much pleasure out of it. I think that he sometimes wishes that he had taken Religious Studies instead. Though I think he is sort of enjoying it, under all the stress. I love the yarn and I'm thinking of knitting lace curtains from it as the yarn would do all the work.

Cherie - last summer we went to get a blazer for him mid August and the main shop had sold out. Their blazer is brown, and they want a particular style. You can't just buy a cheap jacket and sew a patch on like we did when I was a kid. It was a frantic scramble to find one for him. I'm going to try and get one that's a little on the big side and keep my fingers crossed. I'm also hoping that his shoes keep going until the end of term. According to bear, they fit, but they're falling apart. They've already been glued together twice.

Eileen - that is one of the biggest hugs I've had all year. Thank you. I'd love to see a pic of the actual Charter, whenever you get over there and if it's possible. What a wonderful thing to see.

Today has been too hot. Bear did the performance that counts towards his exam - and he will find the result out next year with the rest of his grades! Poor kid, but at least this part is now over and it should calm down a little. He has exams over the next fortnight so will now be up to his armpits in revision.

I seem to have failed in getting much done at all today. I hope to get more done tomorrow.

Hugs and good health to all.

  1. Fingers are crossed that Bear will get a good mark for his performance. It was such a hot day wasn't it, and particularly for anything like that. Was he pleased with how he'd done?

  2. I smile every September when young men wander back to school in oversized blazers. By Christmas they are bursting out of them. Kids grow so fast don't they.

  3. We're supposed to be having a really hot week coming up. 30s in the daytime and about 20 at night. Too warm for me! Hope Bear survives the exams okay. I used to hate that part of the school year - both as a student and a Mum
